I had the best time visiting at my cousin’s, but still. . .there is no place like home. To sleep in your own bed next to your spouse is perfection, though I must say, the bed I slept in at Daryl and Jerry’s was quite nice!
But, to be welcomed back into the bosom of your family so readily, and so lovingly is quite nice. Though, I was quite welcomed in PA. But, to land back home at the end of the journey and to be able to just chill is fabulous.
Of course, I had decided I was going to veg and relax today not stress out about doing anything of consequence. That lasted until about 8:30 am, when some thankless individual had to call me and get me cranked up, then it was off to the races, I felt guilty not “doing” anything. So within minutes I was on the phone getting caught up with all the people I needed to call and let know I had gotten home, all the business calls that needed to be taken care of, etc. Then a few minutes of reading, a few minutes of coffee drinking, then the remembering of more business, etc. and on and on it went all day. So much for chillin’ . . .
Eventually, in between stalls and starts I would kick up my feet and read, so I didn’t kill myself with the effort, but this way I got the house together today, too. All the laundry is done and put away, the house is straightened, like I like it, the dishes are done, the plants watered, everything unpacked, so everything is copacetic, I am happy as a lark, and if Mommy’s happy, everyone’s happy!
