SB #1070 Law and The “New” Old Spice Man . . .

What in God’s name do they have in common, you ask? They both are in the public’s eye, face, whatever, more than we wish. I wonder if the outcome for both has to do with THAT  factor also, which is funny in it’s own way . . .because  the outcome may end up being the OPPOSITE from what most people want, ironic, hmmm. Meaning, I would think, that people wanted the ad campaign to work for Old Spice and also I think the majority wanted something to work for Arizona with the SB#1070 law whether it passed, or at least something was resolved in court, not just the teeth being removed from the Law itself as it was. Now, who’s happy, not that many people, in either case…

Here in Arizona, you can’t get away from the talk,  information and opinion about the fairness of the SB # 1070 Law . It had been passed, but not put into effect, first a judge had to decide on it’s actual correct ruling or her belief of it’s wording being right in regard to Arizona police acting on peoples actual citizenship while in the act of a crime. If you don’t really understand what I’m saying, join the club, because that’s the problem. Its all in the jargon or the wording and everyone has an opinion. The matter can be very divisive and has been. Here in Arizona there have been many protests with things even having been thrown and no one is the winner.  That having been said, jump to other things in the news . . .

I’m speaking of the “New” Old Spice Man who now is one of the most famous men alive! You can’t seem to get away from these ads either. I just read an article speaking of the wonderful AD Campaign that Old Spice has undertaken to try to change the outlook on their old product.  You would think that with all the product recognition and all the attention on the popular commercials that it would have breathed new life into a tired old brand. Having read the article, it seems, it  has given the man himself attention and fame. The brand itself has lost business, the Red Body Wash going down in sales since such a cool ad campaign was started. It seems women love him,  buy men don’t care and too many people still associate the brand with the word Old. Too bad, I love the campaign.

So for all the marketing, all the talk the radio people do, all the hype, the PEOPLE are going to do what they want! You can’t make people follow your opinion .

If it’s over a divisive issue no one is the winner. I just hope everyone reacts like this in NOVEMBER and remembers how we’ve been lied to, taxed, disillusioned,  and cheated by BOTH parties and acts accordingly. I hope they remember they are AMERICANS and the politicians work for us. Remember Truth, Justice and the American Way! You do not have to vote along party lines.

    I read this over and over trying to find the connection between the Arizona law and the Old Spice Guy but… Where is it? Is it just that they both confuse you? Or is there a real, legitimate, connection?
