I don’t want to be accused of age discrimination but I have never seen so many old people in one place at the same time as on our cruise. I actually thought my husband may have been right at one point and maybe we were dead and so was everyone on board and we were destined to travel the seas forever . . .
These people were as nice as could be I just worried for their health. Some people’s health was so precarious/delicate I could not even believe they were able to make the trip! There was so much coughing, when one person finished another person started so it never stopped! The cruise line lent (rented?) scooters to all the people who needed help with walking or usually used a wheelchair. I personally think every person besides the infirm, ie. including lazy and/or heavy people were happy to make use of them. We could have used traffic cops to keep the flow of traffic moving, it was ridiculous. You needed to watch your toes! Thank God no one fell asleep at the switch or died while in control of their scooter, can you imagine?! Maybe right over the edge of the boat, Man Over Board!!
The cruise was very pleasant, just different from what I expected, but isn’t all of life?
To be continued. . .
