I am still amazed by NPR (National Public Radio) and their standing on the Juan Williams comment this past Monday Night on the Bill O’Reilly Show on Fox News on TV. What Juan stated was his feeling, his belief, and millions of other Americans. He stated that when in a crowed place like a airport, when he sees a bunch of muslim in muslim garb he gets nervous. He was having a discussion with the host, Bill O’Reilly, and his organizational people took 36 hours to get in touch with him to announce their displeasure with his opinions and feelings on the FOX show. Seems to me that for it to be 36 hours later, it might be that they were feeling some pressure from groups who didn’t think it was politically correct. When they did come across with their statement, the President and CEO of NPR also insinuated that Juan might need or be seeing a psychiatrist. How unfortunate that they stooped to such a low point to assassinate Juan’s character, too.
I believe it was an act slow in coming, but Juan was “warned” in 2009 not to represent himself as an NPR contributor while on any of the FOX shows. They obviously were not happy with the crossover of Juan to have the nerve to be not just be a good “liberal soldier” and tow the line, but to have an open mind and open ear and open opinion to show up on not only a conservative show, but on a whole “conservative” network without turning into a monster! How dare he. As soon as I heard this, I knew it was retribution for his affiliation with FOX.
This whole episode shall have repercussions that shall be heard and felt for a long time. I hope NPR does lose their financial funding from the Gov’t. since that is your and my money and they are no longer representing YOU & ME. They are following their extra liberal agenda, their beliefs, not an unbiased belief! I hope Juan does better off financially and mentally away from NPR, they have shown their true colors, and they aren’t RED, WHITE & BLUE. It’s obviously it’s their way or the highway. Not the American way! Again the Liberals show their true colors! No sharing of opinions, give and take for them, oh no!
NPR is an incredibly biased organization. I also agree with how they should lose their federal funding. If they’re going to fuel their personal far-left political agenda they can do it as a private organization.
It’s shocking to me that NPR doesn’t have a single conservative employed in their organization. This hasn’t been brought up by Juan, but they don’t even have a black person employed either.
Not to mention, it’s also shocking that the New York Times refuses to even write a single column about this controversy because of their liberal ties to NPR.
Sort of ridiculous, but at least Juan is better off now. *shrugs*
