How much More Politically Correct Can We Get?

Huckleberry Finn book

Have you heard the NEWS that is bugging me now?

If not I’ll let you know. . .

The book “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” is going to be politically corrected . . . to make all the do gooders in this society “feel” better. They think that changing the wordnigger” to “slave” is a good idea. I am not an advocate for using this word in any situation in TODAY’s society, but unfortunately it was and is a part of history and reality. To delete it from this classic book is trying to negate what has happened, what is and has been printed and should never be done. It is censorship in every sense of the word.

The “N” word was not always used in a derogatory sense of the word, if you read the book. It was actually used in a descriptive way. I do not approve, do not get me wrong, but those were the times and that was the word used to describe black people, not “black people” or “African American“. It also WAS used in a derogatory sense, which is a shame, but was reality, and shows the times and needs to be documented.

To use and change the word to “slave” instead does not make sense. If you look at the book, the word is not interchangeable and does not make sense in the context of the story where it needs to be replaced. How ridiculous. How many times are we going to try to make these namby pamby people happy because they want to make the world a “happy” place?!

The world has never been perfect, never will be, after all it is populated with “humans” and we are all just doing the best we can day in and day out, but to deny reality and history means we won’t learn from our mistakes!

Please, just leave documented reality alone, leave a Great American Classic Tome the way it was written, do not bastardize it, let it stand for itself. We shall all be judged some day by a force much greater than each other, or NOT?! Who knows?? Only time will tell. . .
