It seems that some murderous nut decided to attack a Safeway parking lot in Tucson, AZ where 40 yr. old Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D) was speaking at a public event. She is a shining young star on the rise. He shot 19 other people and critically injured her and others.
She is married to Captain Mark E. Kelly an active Navy pilot and astronaut .
It was a lone gunman and he is in custody. They had mistakenly reported that she was dead, but she is currently undergoing surgery and is in critical condition, gravely wounded in the U Of A Medical Center. She had been shot point blank in the head, but the crowd took the lone gunman down, and he was then apprehended by police. A gunman in the crowd shot the congress person then a person from the crowd shot at the shooter. At least three of her staffers have been injured, but the numbers are fluid at this time. Supposedly at this time up to 19 people have been shot, and 9 yr .old girl and 5 others are dead, one a judge.
There were hundreds of people at the gathering at the time. It was called “Congress on Your Corner”. She is a Blue Dog Democrat who was reelected for the 3rd time. It is sending shock waves all through Washington, making people nervous. 9 people were brought to the hospital to be cared for.
