My most special reliable girlfriend took me out today for breakfast. She is the same friend who saw me through my other illness. She lives right near me and she’s able to pop in at the drop of a hat. She brings me coffee, visits and drives me to appointments. I don’t know what I’d do without her she’s my own personal Angel! It’s fabulous having a friend like that. I had a girl friend like that in NJ and she always popped in on me for coffee and we motivated each other.
Well, my girlfriend here in Arizona is an “up an at ’em” type of girl which is great for me. She gets me going because I can easily find it too easy to find reasons to stay home, while once she gets me out, I’m so happy I did go.
So today we made plans to go to breakfast at a really nice place at the Casino at Kyrene. Needless to say, but I feel I should share the info. anyway, we didn’t win. Somehow, even with my Smartsling on, I STILL lost my shirt! I don’t know how, but really, it’s true! The Indian Nation, the machines, and whoever else is involved knows how to get my money and I mean all my money! Damn, I know I shouldn’t go with any expectations of winning, but I still have this innocent sense of hope and wonderment that maybe, just maybe somehow I’ll magically BEAT those odds, I’ll be that special person! Well, not TODAY!
That’s OK, I can justify it by saying to myself that since I’ve been home for 5 weeks straight, except for 1 other day, I deserve a day out, all the money included, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. It doesn’t mater. As I’m spending the money like a drunken sailor it doesn’t faze me, it’s just after…then it’s buyers remorse, because I didn’t GET anything for my money! Waaa! But I did kind of have fun, NOT! I’m a sore loser! I didn’t even win anything, boo hoo! The screens didn’t even open, no bonuses, cheap, cheap! Oh, well…I’d go back in a heart beat, ’cause maybe NOW I’d win…spoken like a true gambler! Anyway, it was nice to get out! Seriously, it was fun. And it was OK, because it was in the morning and it wasn’t crowded so I didn’t get knocked around.
So all in all it was another good day, and day by day I’m getting better & better!
