What’s In The News Today?

Facing an obnoxiously angry mob today, Anthony Weiner apologizes and resigns! Finally. Perhaps now that his wife is back in town, she has talked some sense into him and made him realize it was the only sensible course of action left to him as every day a new embarrassment is uncovered… I wonder how Huma is taking this whole debacle. I do not think I would take it so well, I think I would be out the door faster than it could slam! I also wonder what Weiner will now do for a livelihood as politics has always been his shtick, will his friends circle the wagons and pull a cushy job out of their pockets for him, or will he fade into the background, like the average Joe and have to take a regular job, or have trouble finding a job, like the 9.1% unemployed Americans? Maybe his wife can keep him and he can be a stay-at-home Dad? Nah, bad idea, too much time on his hands to play on the computer, hmmm?

Politics are rolling along and the next Republican Debate took place on Monday and it seems that Michele Bachmann may have been the winner. Her fabulous background of being a touchy-feely mother of 5 and foster mother of 23 kids really make her seem someone who talks the talk and walks the walk. Mitt Romney lost nothing in the debate, but gained nothing either. The rest of the pack were just there, Tim Pawlenty looked like a wimp by not backing up his comment about Obamneycare, mocking Mitt Romney in healthcare, and fell by the wayside in the shadow of the more charismatic Bachmann and Romney. Ron Paul looked kind of like a loon, but that may be par for the course in his Libertarian views. I like him, but you can’t let the country go to hell as we watch.

The hilarity ensued when Mr. Obama said that his family is NOT invested in him being the President if he decided to do something else. Really? I thought they quite enjoyed all the perks that went along with it, Michele and the girls really seem to enjoy all the trips, does anyone remember Spain? If he really isn’t interested, good step down, I know I’m not the only one who’ll be happily relieved that he’ll stand aside and let our country rebound from his scary (interference) Hope & Change and broken promises .
