Why do people still insist on putting rumors in their statuses on Facebook and continue the string of untruths? That’s how ridiculous things go VIRAL, don’t ya know?!
I usually just ignore these statuses, there are too many to even care about but sometimes I have to investigate and research just to see if people know what they’re talking about. Unfortunately it seems more often than not they are untrue and just feed the rumor mill.
My question is why do people feel compelled to do this? I guess they think they are helping, but maybe they should SNOPES it before passing it on? Maybe we should do some research before passing on some bogus or untrue information for the sake of thinking we’re helping, because truth and justice suffer. Sometimes there are the possibility of viruses attached, so thinking you’re helping by perpetuating a rumor is not a great idea. The extent of these rumors is amazing, they include child abuse, missing children, children suffering from diseases needing prayer, charges for Facebook, cures for cancer, sex offenders, global warming, etc. The list is endless and varied.
I may be being a beatch, I’m good at that, but I’ve been annoyed by and savvy to it for a while. I just don’t like to be told what to do. If you want to put a status on your page, have at it, but please don’t ask me and all your friends to do likewise in a certain amount of time or we’re not really your friends. That is so limiting of our friendship! I may love you but not want to jump on your bandwagon, Thank You very much!
I may send my blog site link to Facebook, but I do not solicit anyone personally. The first few lines show up as a tease and if anyone is interested, they can read it. I don’t even think my loyal readers are my friends, they are total strangers. Go figure! So please people, perhaps we should think before we post!
