Get ready for a ride on the Bitches Broom because I got a few rants to share . . .

I went shopping today and bought a few items and the little girl at the register asked me if I wanted a bag for that? Well duh . . .NO! I want to juggle the things to my car . . . especially with one being a light bulb that I might drop and break. When did a shopping bag become an extra, and her putting my purchases in said bag an extra service provided? WTF? Maybe if I just bought a pack of gum I would forgo the bag, but come on people, I know we’re trying to be GREEN, but can I have my purchases put in a bag without the nonsensical question every time I shop?

I got home yesterday from my day at court and there was a note taped to my house requesting that I clear away all the brush and shrubs from my back fence as the Home Owners Association (The New Gestapo) was going to paint all the homes back walls. WTF? I have a very entrenched bush growing there that they are going to have to deal with, they gave me no notice and if they think I’m removing it, trimming it, whatever in one day they are sadly mistaken.

Same day, another note is taped to my garage door about reflective house numbers to be painted on our curbs at a nominal fee to us the homeowners, and if we don’t do it, it will be at our peril.  WTF? I have a perfectly good house number already painted there, can’t they see it and forego the houses that are already done? Also I would appreciate these notes NOT be taped to my house and peel my paint and call attention to my absence if I’m not around, thank you very much.

I was just talking to my husband about the problem of people and the competency at their jobs when what should happen, but we go to the casino and valet our car. When we go to get it, they can’t seem to find our keys. WTF? My husband then has to go in their little hut and search for our car keys for a good 10 minutes it seems the wrong card was put on our keys. Whew! I was really nervous there for a few minutes. No apology, no recognition of the mistake, nothing! People don’t seem to care if they do a bad job….

Maybe it’s just me and I’m a bitch, but I don’t think so. I just don’t get things. I feel like a memo was written and I didn’t get my copy! WTF! When did it become the norm for everybody to do a half-assed job of things? When did it get easier to expect people to do half of the service they pay for for themselves? When did it become okay for people in the service industry to become surly with the customer? WTF!

What do you think, I’d love to know?

What is it about HOAs and petty power?!? We (and our neighbors) just had to fight off the pointlessness of “you have to trim the back of your bushes” type of nonsense. It ended up that after a lot of back and forth, they were in the wrong — but did they apologize for the hassle? Of course not!

I lived in a condo for a while and I joined the Board to see how it was run. Way to much favoritism. As far as the bag thing, I’m not sure I like the idea of phasing out the plastic bags entirely. What am I going to use to empty my cat’s and dog feces in? Soon, they won’t be offering paper anymore either.

Boards need to get a grip! Hell yes on favoritism, I’ve seen colors on houses that are not allowed but are on houses of board members, interesting, huh? I do not want the plastic bags phased out, whatever happened to choice in America, even though they suck, they are so thin. I do like the paper, I flush the cat poop!

  3. I was just searching for this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your web site. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this kind of informative web sites in top of the list. Generally the top websites are full of garbage.

It’s not just you, the problem with the cashiers, servers, and the service industry in general, is minimum wage and high expectations from employers. Having kids who work in it and having done a stint in it myself, they pay $7.25 an hour and expect complete servitude from their employees. My nephew did a stint at Burger King, They would never let him know when he was working until the day before. They are treated very poorly, want a day off, you need to request it weeks in advance (off course it’s without pay) and hope that the manager likes you, remembers that you requested off, and does not include you on the schedule anyway. If you are sick, it’s your responsibility to find someone to cover for you.

They just opened an Aldi’s here. Pay starts at $12 an hour for cashiers with benefits!

I never heard of Aldi’s, but that’s great that they are paying better. I started at the bottom, too at Baskins Robbins and was paid minimum wage. My boss was not the nicest guy, but I always did my job with a smile, a How Da Ya Do? to customers and did the best I could every day. These kids and people in customer service need to learn that customers deserve a nice attitude or they should get a different job. It is not the customers fault that the boss is a jerk, but they do need to learn that the world has all kinds and they might have to deal with it. Afterall, that is the way it is in the real world.
