After tonight 2 acts must go. Hmmm, let’s see who we like tonight!
Here goes….
the theme is Giving Thanks, how apropos.
Rachel Crow is an adopted child who sure has some chutzpah and quite a voice. Her choice and rendition of “I Believe” is very strong. She is adorable and her voice is just amazing. All the judges loved her.
Marcus Canty was raised by a single Mom who did a great job raising Marcus, you can feel their love for each other shining through. He sings “A Song for Mama”. Perhaps he had trouble with the song from emotions, but I didn’t love it. The judges liked it. Simon said it was much better than last week. LA Reid as usual, was over-the-top for his contestant as he states that Marcus is as great as any artist he knows and has worked with. Really? Hmmm…
Melanie Amaro is giving thanks to God because he is the only one who hasn’t let her down. Her natural mother couldn’t raise her, she was shuffled off to her grandparents and felt a loss and hurt deep down inside. So she sings “The World’s Greatest”. It is quite moving and she looks fabulous. The judges loved her. She was so emotional and vulnerable. Simon says outstanding LA Reid can’t say anything negative. Nicole has tears in her eyes and has to hug her. Paula loved her and said she was great as she showed her true self.
Chris Rene gives thanks to Tim his counselor from rehab. He helped straighten Chris out and he’s doing well being and staying clean and sober. He sings “Let It Be” and his version of “Young Homie”. Simon doesn’t love his version of “Let It Be” and neither do I, he isn’t the greatest straight up singer. He’s better doing “Young Homie” his genre.
Lakoda Rayne’s girls thank fathers, grandmothers and boyfriends. They sing “You Belong With Me” and the judges loved them.LA Reid liked them. Nicole really liked them ands felt she was at their concert. Simon says it’s his favorite song of theirs ever. Paula is just beside herself crying.
LeRoy Bell sings for his mother who raised 6 kids and was very strong. She died 2 years ago and always believed in him. He was best friends with his mom and misses her so much. He sings “Angel” with conviction and it’s beautiful. Everybody but LA Reid loved it!
Astro sings for his fans, after last week’s epic fail, of being the obnoxious brat who couldn’t take criticism he comes out with no apology, LA Reid apologized for him. He realized that he has fans behind him so he sings to them. I DIDN’T love it. I don’t want to be a hater, he is just a young kid, but he does come out with an almost apology and says he explains he lost it last week. Paula slobbers all over him asking to be an “Astro nat”. Simon says it wasn’t his greatest and I have to agree. It wasn’t really a thankful song, but whatever.
Drew thanks her best friend who helps her be herself. She sings “Skyscraper”. She sings her same type of song and style. I would love to hear something new from her. LA Reid says she sings songs for old people and is dissing Simon, but she stands up for herself and explains that she sang the song that made her think of her friend. Simon tells LA Reid he’s talking pure rubbish. They get into a heated debate and as I remember it, 2 songs ago Simon said he wanted LA Reid on the show for his expertise. Unbelievable.
Josh Krajcik sings for his daughter who he loves so much. He sings “Wild Horses” which I happen to love. He is fabulous… I thought I loved Susan Boyle’s version but this was amazing and heartfelt. Josh has his own style which is wonderful. He gets a standing ovation from the judges. LA Reid says he has everything to win this. Paula loves him. Simon says he has everything… passion, he means every word and he has it all. Nicole thinks his music can change the world as she cries again.
So tune in tomorrow and see who gets voted off.
