Damn, I’m sorry to hear that Herman Cain is in the news again, and not for anything good! Is The CAIN TRAIN finally going to be totally derailed? It seems a woman from Atlanta has come out saying that he ended a 13 year affair with her about 8 months before he started his run for the presidency. Cain of course denies this allegation.
Now I’m not the “morality” police but I’m curious as to why it’s any different for Herman Cain than Bill Clinton and his shenanigans in the White House? How about Newt Gingrich’s dalliances and trading up for new wives a few times? Those were definites and for now this again is only an allegation against Herman Cain. Except for the “surprise factor”, I guess that’s the difference . . . Herman should have emptied his closet of skeletons before his run for the presidency.
I guess we’ll have to see how this shakes out in the court of public of opinion. Unfortunately Herman’s opinion numbers have already dropped like a rock since the other sexual allegations, so this is probably only going to add to his declining numbers. Also I wonder if Herman Cain has the strength in his marriage to weather the storm as he’s already talking about “reassessing his campaign”. Supposedly his wife is behind him, but stated “here we go again”. I just wonder if where there is smoke there is fire, but I liked the man and his plans.
It must be exhausting trying to get your plan across to the people when you’re always putting out fires . . .
Herman states that he has no plans to drop out of the race as long as his wife is behind him, but probably has no choice but to staff down.

The best thing I read was a comic that said, “Herman Cain’s denied more sex than I’ve ever had.” That’s pretty good.
I think it’s the “surprise” factor that makes it tough on a candidate. Newt’s multiple marriages are well-known and so not very newsworthy — though his defending the “sanctity” of marriage is a laugher, if you ask me.
It does beg the question of how much of a person’s behavior out of the spotlight or before they were in the spotlight should affect our opinion of how good a candidate/leader they could be. Jefferson fathered children on his slaves. JFK was a doped-up chronic philanderer. MLK Jr had affairs. Teddy Roosevelt like to go shoot things — a lot. None of these actions would be stomached in today’s hyper-vigilant “must know all” society.

That comic is right…
It is true the “surprise factor” is what is getting Herman Cain in trouble, perhaps he should have emptied his closet of all the skeletons himself, which makes you wonder, ARE these allegations true (?) but there are just so many, or is he that naive that he really didn’t think the truth (?) would come out?
I must side with you, the past was a kinder gentler time of ignorance is bliss when we didn’t know all of everybody’s “foibles” Ha ha, and those politicians sure did have some doosies, didn’t they? History tells us the truth in retrospect, but they got the job done anyway.
