American Idol – Erika Goes Home!

I haven’t written an update about the American Idol’s result show sooner because I was so traumatized by the results. I may be exaggerating but I was seriously annoyed by America and their voting! The show has turned into a joke!

I don’t usually get too invested in the contestants unless someone really moves me emotionally and I really think they are outstanding in talent. The only reason I am so upset by the voting public this week is that I do not think Erika deserved to have been booted off the show before some of  the “others” who are obviously less talented than her!

Also, it was obvious from her daring fashion choice, unfortunately perhaps the wrong one, but Goddess knows she was willing to do ANYTHING to try to do what fashion ICON Tommy Hilfiger suggest she DO to win, which was cut her short and dye it black, ICK, I just didn’t agree with his choice for her and I don’t think America did either! Tommy thought people would like to see her jawline, WHAT?! As if people care about her jawline…

So, instead of rightly either Heejun or DeAndre who were subpar being sent home it was Erika.

Heejun who sang a comic rendition of a Bill Joel song who so annoyed Steven Tyler he asked him if he was happy that he sang “the piss out of it” and had an aggravated face. I thought it was a slap in the face and disrespectful of the whole show.  Jimmy Iovine also commented that he thought Steven was mad that he had made a joke out of the process of the Idol contest, but unfortunately it was the night after the voting process. I don’t see how Heejun is staying in the contest. As for DeAndre, his days are numbered, in my opinion. I do not think he is very talented, but he does probably get the young girl, the tween vote!

Erika sang for her life and the judges did not save her, it is too early in the contest to waste their one save vote, I do not blame them for not saving her. She did not do a great job, I just feel bad for her, to have that kind of all or nothing determination to throw it all in to change her whole look and then be thrown out must be hard! Oh, well the show must go on!

We’ll see what happens next week!
