We can only hope this is true….yesterday I filled out my early entry ballot and I VOTED and it was mailed in this morning. So, I feel I have done my duty and I am so happy. I’m sure everyone has had enough of all the rhetoric that is out there and I was only adding to it. I must apologize for that. I may have been carried away feeling this is the most important political race of our lifetimes, but I heard someone say they’ve heard people say that every 4 years for their whole life. When I heard that, it made me try to put some perspective on this matter. The Presidential race this season may seem very important to me and others, but maybe everyone doesn’t want to hear politics non-stop! I also realized that having been caught up in the political debate, I was getting a little strident and now having voted and voiced my opinion quite vociferously many times I am ready to let it go.
Filling out the early ballot at home was very much better than going in person for me because I was able to look up each Proposition and see the details and make my informed decision, which I really enjoyed. I felt a part of the whole voting process so much more than when going in person and not sure of a decision to vote on because I could look it up and vote then and there, if you know me you know I have issues with my memory.
So it is now in the hands of the people, I’m done. Perhaps that’s why I feel at peace, I’ve done what I can do and though I can’t wait for the debate on Tuesday, don’t get me wrong, I’ll be watching with bated breath but I’ll keep the excitement for me and my husband. I can’t wait for the counting of the votes on Election Night……that’ll be like my Super Bowl……..but I’ll keep it to myself! And maybe discuss it with people who like to talk politics, I am a social animal and I can’t go cold turkey! I’ll also read political e-mails and send them to people who appreciate them!
Good luck to you and your family and your voting process. I hope you vote and make an informed decision. You can go on-line and read about all the propositions so you understand everything you vote on. Isn’t the information age grand?!
