If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that my husband and I like going to the casino for relaxation. My husband has a high pressure job and I think all the noise and distraction at the casino takes his mind off work. I enjoy it for the adrenaline rush I get hoping to win……
If you didn’t know this, you do now. So the other weekend we stopped into Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, AZ and were doing our usual routine. We kind of separate and go our own way to gamble and meet up on and off during our time there. I was losing and checked up on him and of course he started winning immediately. It seems whenever I come over to him and suggest we leave he starts winning – he gets a bunch of free games on his slot machine and then we’re stuck there for a while. I decided to walk off — thinking about finding a “winning” machine before I lost every penny I brought. It seems it was time for the casino to have one of their drawings. They call 3-4 peoples names and sometimes do some kind of game the people have to play and may win a certain amount of cash or credit at the casino. I realized I was not playing with my Players Card so I thought “damn, I won’t be called……..I should have been playing with my card!” So the woman over the PA system called three names and gave each contestant or winner 4 minutes to show up to the stage. I kept playing. The last name called was repeated a few times and the woman announcer said she didn’t show up in the 4 minutes so they would pull another name……and drum roll please, guess who was called? Yup, me! The prize was $500 USD…….that’s it……$500 cash with no stupid game or nonsense.
Tonight there is another drawing at 10:30 PM that I have been given 10 extra chances to win from the original drawing. My husband is really excited and though he can’t accompany me he really wants me to go to see if my name is drawn again to win the $10,000 prize. For some reason he’s really psyched….he really thinks I might win……wouldn’t that be amazing!
So, wish me luck……..
