Update On The Casino Shenanigan….

So…..I wasn’t exactly excited to go to the casino last night by myself again.  (my friends were busy and my husband had an early call at work) I’m just not used to going out at night in the cold. I’m definitely getting old …..I’d rather put on my ‘jammies and a blankie and chill on the couch and watch some stupid relaxing TV with my hubbie then get all dolled up to make my way in the social world of a Thursday Casino night.

But face it I did. Thanks to the Home Improvement gurus of the day, when I tried to take my shower and stood naked approaching the water there was only cold water in that particular shower in my house. So I scuttled towel-clad to another shower on another floor of my house with a few choice words escaping my lips. Hoping the next shower would indeed have hot water, yes… thank God it did, I longed to get ready with no more interruptions. As I tried to blow dry my hair I found my blow dryer wouldn’t work, Damn, damn damn….another gift from my workers, I think……they might be the gift that keeps on giving. It seems one of their tools blew the GFCI outlet in my master bathroom which seems to have blown a few in the house. The downstairs bathroom outlets won’t work and the garage GFCI is out which I didn’t actually find until I came home at 11:30 and noticed a yucky puddle and a defrosting freezer in the garage, but I digress.

On to the casino. It was pretty crowded when I arrived though I tried to go to the machines I like. They were all taken. I was disappointed and milled around looking for somewhere to settle. I tried a machine or two that have been alright to me in the past. I slip in the middle of people and am not feeling any mojo. The casino is loud and crowded and I feel discordant from the beginning. I lose a $20 quickly and question my sanity for leaving the safety of my home….I watch a woman next to me win $300.00 as she plays $4.50 a push as I play a paltry $.60 a push…I am not a high roller! I leave that area…..and move on. My machine Turtles is still being played by others. I walk up to a worker on the floor to ask for assistance……I want to know when and if the $10,000 DRAWING is going to happen Tonight.  The Players Club window is packed with people……..I do not want to wait for assistance, impatience is my middle name. I am playing with my Players Club Card and I assume that should be sufficient to be put into the drawing again tonight, but the girl says there is NO Drawing Tonight. WHAT!?  The Only reason I am there is for this DAMN Drawing again, NO Drawing, It seems it has been put off until Feb. 21, 2013, because they had a snafu in their system! I do not understand. If they had a problem with their system last Tuesday shouldn’t they rectify the problem ASAP and get on with it NOT put it off until Feb. 21.? That is almost a month away. It’s a whole different month. Whatever?! It seems to me casinos do whatever they want and people swallow it! It just doesn’t seem right!

But I was there, I was all dressed up and rarin’ to go now (I had drunk a Red Bull) so I decided I was going to have a good time. So I played and I WON! I invested about $80.00 and left with $787.00…….it was a good night. I still left early….about 11:15 but I played a bunch of games and had some good luck. It seems that sometimes Lady Luck just smiles on you……I was luckier than usual and knew when to leave. I left with all my winnings. I met a nice older woman Patricia who was playing next to me when I was playing a Lion machine while she was playing the Panda machine. We both were getting free bonus games and having fun cheering each other on.

Will I show up on Feb. 21st? Who knows? Just to be ornery…..probably…….! Maybe I’ll win, doesn’t matter……though now many more people will be there for this extended drawing date……..they’ve jerked people around for so long, many people are annoyed by the drawing date being drawn out, including myself, we have to show up just to see that they DO the drawing. I’ve never cared about a drawing before in my life, but the fact that I was so happy I was even called in the first place and actually won $500.00 was what made it special and the fact that my name was put in this second drawing 10 extra times and that now they are messing around with this drawing is I why I feel so disappointed with the casino, shame on them…. so I feel a need almost to make sure they do it, for honesty’s sake I think! So we’ll see….. won’t we, stay tuned!
