I’ve been on hiatus in Oak Creek, AZ near Sedona for a little recharge of my personal batteries. It was a little get away from all the hustle and bustle of the concrete and buzz of the city life. Have you ever noticed the constant noise of your everyday life . . . there are motors everywhere . . . I know I live a blessed life, but maybe having it all is too much?!
I’ve noticed that even sitting outside in the backyard, in my little oasis, that you can’t get away from all the sounds of our rarefied existence these days. There is always constant noise, pool motors… mine and neighbors, big air-conditioners, sprinkler systems, lawn people, airplanes, the list goes on and on. My mind never seems to rest. Eventually, it all gets to be too much. I get over stimulated and feel like I’m going to explode! I need a respite from it all. . .
Thus, the trip to the cabin in the woods with no TV, no cell phones, no computers, no radios, no air-conditioning, and no background hum of all the motors. The background noise was the CREEK. Blessed be! It was amazingly soothing and calming. It was such wonderful down-time, a relaxation for the mind. Time to get in touch with myself and nature again is always a good and healing thing.
Soaring pines, butterfly gardens, chirping birds and red rocks soothe. What more could a person ask to take the edge off? It was lovely, and I’m back to take on the world!
More to follow, just a tease for now . . .

Great post! Sounds very relaxing. Congratulations to you.
I know what you mean. The concrete jungle is fun for the working person but sometimes you just want peace and quiet. It’s great to get away from it all occasionally.
