Are YOU Part Of The Truly POOR? Supposedly 1 Out of 7 ARE ! #

I was listening to talk radio again…perhaps I shouldn’t because it just torques me up. They were discussing what is now “considered” poor in America and it is interesting what people who are in this category may have. This category now encompasses 1 out of 7….what? How can that be possible? This is why we are in the predicament we are in financially in this country. The system we have now is unsustainable, all the Depts. to help the poor, all the entitlements don’t really help, do they? We really need to teach people to help themselves. Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime!

The Dept. of  Labor and The Dept. of Census may consider the standard to be more or less than the necessarily real poor. It is very unfortunate, but I believe the government may mean well, but has over-compensated to keep themselves in business and needed. If they keep themselves relevant and on the side of “the people” by giving, giving, giving, they (the people on the dole) will vote for them (the benevolent Gov’t.) forever! Why not if given money AND not taxed? WINNING!

They (Obama and his cohorts) and any politicians on the side of the overly-liberal “Tax the Rich give to the Poor” (Robinhood Syndrome) policies will be the downfalll of America. We cannot afford this forever. Our chit is about to be called in. We cannot do this “redistribution” thing of Obama’s!

I have tried to follow the statistics on both sides, Liberal and Conservative before I spout off my opinion and I think both sides are way off. Both sides are as usual pushing their agendas forward. This is what is wrong with politics in America at this time. This is why the constituency is no longer happy and perhaps we should hit the reset button. No one in politics is being honest with us or themselves.

Some  statistics “say” that households at or under $20K are at the poverty line. Well, I think anyone in the country would agree with that. How people can even run a household with that little amount of cash is beyond me. Then you get statistics or stories from such conservative sources as “The Heritage Foundation” and they say way different things. Their statistics state that the majority of the “poor” have air-conditioning, color tvs,          x-boxes, microwaves, ovens, stoves, and even cable. Not quite what you’d expect to be considered poor. So, I’m assuming the reality must be somewhere in-between.

Somewhere along the way we’ve ALL lost our priorities. We do not understand what TRULY POOR is! I think that means going to bed hungry, being homeless or naked. Wanting . . . of necessities. Not wishing you had more of what your neighbors have or what the peep’s on TV have, like the Kardashian’s or like the guys on Pimp my Crib!  I don’t begrudge anyone anything if they buy it for themselves with their OWN money, but if you are getting government assistance, perhaps you should cancel your cable, HBO if you have it and buy food and clothes first instead of saying you are starving, or needing food stamps. I also wonder if these same people have cell phones, and I wonder if they have all the apps. and internet on their phones? I don’t. I think it is too frivolous! I know I’ve seen homeless people myself, with my own eyes, with cellphones so this is not an exaggeration by Conservatives, isn’t that a little aberrant having a cellphone when you are homeless? Where does the bill go? Perhaps food would be a little more important?

Yet, on the other side, to tax the rich more to help the poor, (and what the President wants to consider rich is $250K and up) to an even higher degree is not right either. These people have worked hard to get where they are, they should be applauded for being successful, not penalized for doing well. Isn’t that the American dream? Many of these people started off at the bottom and have worked their way up and are now prosperous, why should their taxes keep going up to help the unsuccessful, or the poor? Their tax percentage is already high enough! I’m all for some help, but not for raping the successful! Perhaps if the Government would STOP SPENDING like drunken sailors, put themselves on a realistic budget they would not have to take the money FROM the successful and/or rich to give TO the (unfortunate) poor to help them.

Believe me, again, yes I am all for helping people who really need it, but there are many people scamming the systems set up for the real poor who need it.  We have to figure out some better checks and balances, people should be helped but not at America’s expense, and not at each others expense. Please do not use class warfare for your own agenda, Politicians! Learn some fiscal responsibility!

Wow – In sa if you have a x-box you still have two parents living at home – the family who has playstation 3 is considered “rich”. its sad but true how society considered luxuries to be necessities these days, and the REAL poor people consider fresh bread a luxury.
